This 5-strand Sciacca coral necklace is an authentic piece of Mediterranean history. The Sciacca coral jade medallion combines the tradition of Sicilian fishermen with the refinement of jade, in a balance of colours and textures. The hand-selected coral beads are a vibrant, intense red, typical of Sciacca coral, fished from the Mediterranean Sea.
The central medallion is carved from green jade with a floral motif, framed in 18kt gold (750‰). The 5 strands of coral are cut as cabochons, for a smooth, lustrous surface. The medallion weighs 47 grams, of which 6.3 grams is gold; a weight that gives the necklace a substantial yet not overpowering presence.
Every element has been crafted by hand: from the selection of the beads to the finishing of the medallion. This is a piece that speaks of the sea, the land, and masterful craftsmanship.
